Vanessa C. Reed
Vanessa Reed earned her J.D. from the Regent University School of Law and began her legal career in private practice. Before opening Reed Law, she defended insurance companies and large corporations in personal injury and workers’ compensation, then practiced divorce and family law in Northern Virginia at 2 law firms. Ms. Reed accepts all types of injury cases as well as family law and guardianship matters. She is admitted to the bars of South Carolina and Virginia’s courts.
Ms. Reed received her undergraduate degree from Christopher Newport University in 1998, was accepted to the Regent University School of Law, and earned her J.D. in 2001. She then worked as an attorney in private practice before opening Reed Law. Ms. Reed is licensed to practice in South Carolina and Virginia, maintaining offices in both locations. She and her husband are co-owners of The Reed Law Firm in Manassas, VA, and have practiced together since 2011. She accepts personal injury, workers’ compensation, medical malpractice, family law, and divorce cases.
Ms. Reed has represented countless victims in personal injury, workers’ compensation, and medical malpractice cases. She attributes her success in this litigation to her years of defense attorney experience in injury-related matters, wherein she routinely appeared as defense counsel on behalf of insurance companies and large corporations, including several Fortune 100 companies. Ms. Reed now leverages this wealth of experience to argue for injured workers and accident victims, which work she finds some of the most fulfilling of her career.
Ms. Reed also regularly accepts family law and divorce cases. In addition to her experience defending companies in personal injury cases, she worked as an associate for 2 law firms in the Northern Virginia area that focused primarily on family law and guardianship matters. During this time, Ms. Reed was also regularly appointed to represent children as a guardian ad litem in child custody, visitation, and abuse/neglect cases. She has represented hundreds of clients in divorces, annulments, post-divorce child and spousal support modifications, custody and visitation cases, grandparent custody and visitation cases, adoptions, post-decree enforcement matters, and other family law matters. She has also served as a guardian ad litem for incapacitated adults in numerous cases.
In 2023, Ms. Reed opened The Reed Law Office in Myrtle Beach, SC, with her husband. Her South Carolina practice includes all types of injury cases as well as family law and guardianship matters. She looks forward to representing clients throughout the great state of South Carolina and helping the local community through her extensive legal experience.
